Who I am

My name is Raquel. I’m a Registered Social Worker (RSW, MSW) who blends professional expertise with lived experience as someone of biracial identity. My practice is rooted in both personal and collective understandings of identity, belonging, and systemic inequities.

I believe counselling is not a one-size-fits-all journey. Every person’s path to healing is unique, which is why I take an eclectic approach drawing from multiple evidence-based and integrative methods to meet your needs in the moment. My work is trauma-informed, CBT-informed, ACT-informed, and guided by Motivational Interviewing to help you shift patterns, clarify values, and take meaningful steps forward. I also integrate Strengths-Based and Solution-Focused principles, centering your resilience and capacity for change.

Our work together may include grounding techniques to help you regulate emotions and reconnect with your body during difficult moments. Whether you are processing racial or intergenerational trauma, navigating identity transitions, or seeking to live more fully in your body, I aim to create a space that is affirming, decolonized, and emotionally safe — particularly for BIPOC and multiracial clients. My goal is not only to help you heal from what has harmed you, but to support you in reclaiming the parts of yourself that have always been whole.
